Wedding FAQs

We would like you to be our wedding photographer; what are the next steps?

I would be honoured to photograph your wedding! Please contact me via my contact form or phone and we can discuss further details. I would like to meet you in person prior to your wedding so as to discuss your ideas and select the ideal package for you. However, we can also discuss all the details by phone, Face Time or Skype if you prefer. Next, I will send a detailed contract for you to sign and return with a deposit. On to the next item on your wedding to-do list!

Will you be the photographer at my wedding?

Yes. I will be photographing your wedding as the principle photographer. I work with an assistant / 2ndphotographer so that I can ensure we work efficiently and capture each special moment as the day unfolds. I enjoy working with an assistant because it also allows me to focus on the small details and spontaneous moments that make weddings so memorable.

How much do I need to deposit?

I require a 30% initial deposit; the remaining fee is to be paid on or before the wedding day.

Where are you based?

I am based in Canmore, Alberta. The town is set amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Rocky Mountains and located minutes away from Banff National Park and Kananaskis Country, which are all ideal settings for spectacular wedding photographs! My studio is at 306 Bow Valley Trail #113B, Canmore, AB T1W 0N2

We are from out of town, can you suggest venues and vendors?

Yes. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with some extraordinary people in Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. For inspiration on locations and services for your wedding, see my suggestions on venues and vendors.

When should we do the wedding portraits?

We can discuss timing as per your schedule, but I prefer shooting wedding portraits either a few hours before or immediately following the ceremony. You may decide to wait until after the ceremony in order to take advantage of the soft evening light.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I shoot with a Nikon D810, Nikon D800 and Nikon D5 and a combination of lenses.

When will I be able to see my wedding photos?

I will be ready to present your wedding photographs within 2 to 4 weeks. After the wedding, I will review all of the photos, select the best images and carefully edit and process each photograph before presenting your portfolio.

Do you offer albums?

Yes. I offer custom-designed hardbound photo books, as well as other à la carte products. I would be happy to discuss all of the available options or ideas you may have.

How do I obtain a marriage license for the province of Alberta, and are there other requirements for my marriage to be legally recognized?

  • To find a registered marriage commissioner, refer to the Government of Alberta’s Marriage Officiant Listing.
  • If you are eloping, please note that you are required to have two legal witnesses in attendance at your ceremony; as your photographer I would be happy to sign as one of your witnesses.
